Moving With It / In It explores the contrabass as a resonant body to be moved with and inhabited from within. Through preparation and extended techniques, the instrument becomes an acoustic terrain of friction, breath-like textures, muted pulses, and unstable harmonics.
Without amplification, the work unfolds in intimacy and physical proximity. Small shifts of weight, bow pressure, and touch generate subtle changes in density and color. Movement is not illustrative but structural — sound emerges from contact, resistance, and balance.
A gesture-based notation traces energy and duration rather than fixed pitch, allowing the performer to navigate between defined actions and attentive stillness.
The piece proposes performance as immersion: moving with the instrument’s material presence while simultaneously moving inside its resonance.
