Birgit Gerst, 66 years old, was born and raised in Mühlacker and Lomersheim. She is the mother of four children and three grandchildren.
Since 1991, she has been living in Freudenstein near Maulbronn.
She has been practicing photography since 2007. Since 2023, she has participated in exhibitions with the Künstlergruppe Mühlacker, of which she is a member. Her particular focus is on analog photography, especially the technique of multiple exposures. In this process, she works with various materials such as old photographs or texts, placing them in a new light or connecting them with the present.
She also applies the technique of photo-frottage and occasionally creates installations as a medium for photography.
