Freshly rehabilitated, Carrot Root presents her work “Tire Treads.” Dark, seemingly abstract landscapes invite the imagination. An elusive aesthetic reflects a distorted reality. Exaggerated close-ups reveal beauty where ugliness and disfigurement were presumed. Surface textures allude to the depicted object. Skin structures interwoven with scar tissue are reinterpreted through an artistic lens and ultimately integrated into the self.
